Percol8.ie has developed a unique system for site assessment of both green-field sites and existing legacy sites encountering difficulties with treatment and pollution. There is no need for excavating dangerous trial holes with the associated cost of digger hire. Percol8.ie uses a purpose built Percussion Drive Sampling Rig to extract undisturbed soil samples. These soil samples are later analysed in accordance with BS. 5930: 1999. A monitoring well is installed which facilitates on-going monitoring of the water table level. This is a crucial aspect for successful treatment. This monitoring well can also be used for groundwater sampling in the future and as such can be used by you to demonstrate that you are not the source of pollution.

Percolation test holes are also installed at the appropriate depths in order to verify the results established from the soil sampling. This process facilitates 3rd party assessment of the soil samples and/or percolation testing to verify the results of the assessment and on-going measurement of the water table and groundwater sampling.

On some sites septic tanks, and specifically percolation areas, will not work. On some of these sites there may be no alternative to the use of a packaged treatment unit and polishing filter. If such a proposal is the only possible outcome we will explain why this is the case and we will suggest a solution which is both appropriate and cost effective for you in the future. It is also important to appreciate that on a small percentage of sites it may not be possible to cost effectively treat wastewater. In such a situation it is crucial that you have this information early, even before you engage an Architect or Engineer to apply for Planning Permission. Our Site Assessment process will provide you with cost effective fundamental information which is invaluable in making your initial decision on the purchase of a site or on the choice of a specific site on your own land.
